Time Management is the bane of our lives, the sign-off at the end of every personal development review, the desperate attempt to get more done with our office hours, but what do we really mean when we say “I’m really bad at managing my time”?
In my experience this means different things for different people. For some it means “There are so many things I don’t fancy doing on my to do list”, others might fill in the sub-text with “I plan so well but there is just mountains of work and it gets on top of me”.
This is why, when your well-meaning and enthusiastic boss directs you to video tutorials for time management on lynda.com during your PD, you leave feeling slightly deflated: Time management is different for everyone. There is no one-size-fits-all.
So this is when I step in to shameless promotion mode and go on about my unique service that I’m very proud of – 1:1 time management consultancy in a single hour, most of which is spent listening to you and building a profile of your current working methods followed by a a set of manageable goals and an hour review a month later.
